Roma ISD Announces March 2017 Gladiator Wall of Fame Honorees



Roma ISD’s Gladiator Wall of Fame Program shines the light on exemplary students, who are selected for the honor based on citizenship, leadership, academics and extracurricular activities. The March 2017 Roma ISD Gladiator Wall of Fame honorees were highlighted at a called school board meeting held March 30, 2017. The honorees include Isaac Ibarra, Yaritza Lozano and Ezequiel Gonzalez of Emma Vera Elementary School; Rocio Barrera, Galia F. Ramirez, and Lauro Lopez of F.J. Scott Elementary School; Angelina Garcia and Noe E. Guerra of R. & C. Saenz Elementary School; Elizabeth Garcia and Jasmine Rangel of R.T. Barrera Elementary School; Camila Bazan, Caremi Ramirez and Rachel Rodriguez of Veterans Memorial Elementary School; Nathan Aguilar, Ashley Garza and Cristina Ramirez of Y.B. Escobar Elementary School; Sebastian Perez and Yamilleth Salinas of Ramiro Barrera Middle School; Ximena Carrillo and Liana A. Urbano of Roma Middle School; and Luis D. Cantu, Melissa Lopez and Ana M. Perez of Roma High School. Congratulations to all students!


Roma High School Mariachi Nuevo Santander Honored for State UIL Division 1 Rating


Roma High School's Mariachi Nuevo Santander earned a 1st Division Rating at the 2017 UIL State Mariachi Festival! The students were honored for another outstanding accomplishment at the Roma ISD March School Board Meeting.

"The district is extremely proud of these students and their directors who work so hard to excel in all they do," expressed Roma ISD Superintendent Carlos Guzman. "They continue to amaze us all the time by their accomplishments and the fact that so many of them are excelling academically as well. These students are blessed with amazing talent, which they continue to hone. I’m very proud and can’t wait to see what else these students accomplish in the future!”

Located on the Texas-Mexico border in the heart of Starr County, Roma ISD is a leading provider of Pre-Kinder to 12th Grade education for more than 6,000 students.  With its headquarters in Roma, Texas, Roma ISD is comprised of 10 campuses including six elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school and one alternative learning center.  Students are provided a full range of services, educational options and extracurricular activities to meet their diverse needs.
